Dotmatics had an outdated website that didn’t align with their position as a global scientific leader. The challenge was to build a fully custom site that could represent their portfolio companies while being optimized for both user experience and SEO.
Their competitors, although smaller, had stronger domain authority and more content, which made it difficult to rank higher in niche keyword clusters. Additionally, Dotmatics had limited content output and a small website, which led to difficulties in driving organic traffic and improving SEO visibility. The existing technical setup of the website also needed a complete overhaul to meet current web standards and Google’s Core Web Vitals requirements.
Custom website redesign and comprehensive SEO strategy
Productive Shop’s team tackled the challenge by redesigning the entire website using Contentful CMS and Next.js. The website was custom-built from the ground up to ensure flexibility, speed, and security—addressing both technical and design requirements.
On the SEO side, Productive Shop worked closely with Dotmatics’ internal teams to create an editorial calendar and boost content output. A targeted SEO strategy was implemented to improve rankings for critical keyword clusters such as “electronic lab notebook” and “lab automation.”
