Http Error: 504 Gateway Timeout

504 Gateway Timeout

If you receive this status code, it means that the server is a gateway or a proxy server which is not receiving a response from the backend servers within the allotted time.

Here are some things to check when encountering this error:

  • Check to see if the connection between the proxy server and the backend servers is poor.
  • Check if the backend server handling the request is slow due to poor performance.
  • Check if the gateway or proxy server’s timeout is too short.
